Why read?

Why Read?

I was never a kid who read. My parents would vaguely allude to the fact that reading is a good thing, but, it never really struck a nerve. During my final year of medical school I started to read about businesses and successful entrepreneurs. Tim Ferriss- 'I'm yet to meet a super successful person who doesn't read'.

Reading is by no means a guaranteed route to success. Reading, if not done right, can be a screen behind which people hide to procrastinate. But when I discovered the leverage that reading can provide - it changed my life. Through reading, I found authors and people I look up to and get inspired by. Reading actually led me to funnel my followers on twitter to make sure my life is getting enriched by interesting and dynamic people.

I would be non-commital, if a book is boring, leave it. Move to the next, there is far to much good content out there to read then be stuck due to some cover to cover commitment that you have made to yourself.
